Workshops


Educational Opportunity Centers regularly conducts workshops in the community, both in-person and via Zoom. We offer the following:

ACT/SAT Prep

The ACT and SAT are two of the most commonly used entrance exams for college admittance. Our ACT/SAT workshops prepare students for the exams, covering test format, topics, and deadlines.

College 101

This workshop is designed for new college students of all ages and explores the basics of pursuing post-secondary education.

FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid)

We walk families through the FAFSA application process and help explain how and why it is important. Equally important, we instruct people how to complete their FSA ID.

Financial Literacy

We offer classes and how-to sessions on money management, dealing with debt, creating a checking/savings account, retirement, emergency fund development, identifying needs v. wants, balancing a checkbook, credit, employee benefits, investments, and much more.

Finding My Passion

Not sure what you want to do with your life? Are you wondering how to turn your hobby into a career? This workshop is for you.

SMART Goal Setting

Most of us know what a goal is right? We have short-term and long-term goals, do you know the difference or the relevance? Learn how to set goals that are Specific, Measurable, Attainable, Ambitious, Adjustable, Relevant, and Timely. We help you set goals that match your life priorities for a lifetime of success.

Time Management

This workshop goes hand-in-hand with SMART Goal Setting. This is the day-to-day process that leads to success. We help you prioritize tasks (ABC), get organized, overcome procrastination, let go of perfectionism, manage disruptions, and avoid taking on too much.
